Assessment of Explosive Atmoshpere (ATEX)
According to Greek legislation (P.D. 42/2003) and the relevant European Directives for ATEX, all organisations which engage in the production, processing, use or management of materials which may produce an explosive atmosphere (flammable liquids and gases, flammable dust, etc.) must take measures to ensure protection of its personnel against the risk of an explosion.
The basic obligations include:
- Identification, evaluation and assessment of the risk of explosion.
- Classification of hazardous areas - zones.
- Use of ATEX-certified equipment.
- Identification of measures necessary to protect the personnel against explosive atmospheres.
- Development of the Explosion Protection Document.
Process Engineering has significant experience in the development of ATEX studies and the relevant documentation, having already conducted such studies in a multitude of sites (including fuel storage, distribution sites, chemical plants, etc.).
