Safety and Health Signage beyond legislative employer liability (P.D. 105/1995) constitutes an important means to upgrade safety and health conditions of a workplace.

The Signage may include visual and audio means which:
  • Warn of the dangers that may arise.
  • Prohibit actions that may put staff at risk.
  • Oblige into taking specific protection measures (use of Personal Protective Equipment, etc.).
  • Provide guidance on actions to be taken in the event of emergencies (fire, evacuation, etc.).

To select the appropriate signage, the employer must take into consideration the Occupational Risk Assessment conducted according to applicable provisions.

For a more accurate and detailed selection of the appropriate signage, the employer may prepare a Workplace Signage Assessment.

Process Engineering employs consultants with extensive experience in Safety Signage Assessments and can effectively support a business in its implementation.

The main steps for the implementation of the assessment include:
  • Surveying the workplace and defining the relevant requirements based on the relevant occupational risks.
  • Specifying the type of signals to be installed (graphical symbols, dimensions, material, audio and light signage requirements).
  • Outlining of the location where the marks will be placed on relevant drawings (top view, etc.).
  • Composing of a complete Safety Signage Assessment Report.
  • Technical support of business in supplying and installation of signage.
