According to Greek legislation (P.D. 17/1996) the employer must take the necessary measures which will be adapted to the size and nature of the activities of his business, in terms of first aid, fire safety and evacuation of premises by employees and other persons present. Additionally, he must instruct employees to be able to leave the workplace and move to a safe place in case of serious, immediate and unavoidable hazard. Finally, he should organize the appropriate infrastructure and ensure the appropriate connections with competent external services in order to deal immediately with incidents of first aid, emergency medical care, rescue and fire safety.

All the above mentioned legislative requirements are covered by the Emergency Situations Plans.

The Emergency Situations Plans, depending on the organization's activities, may include confrontation procedures of general emergency incidents (i.e. earthquake, fire, terrorist threat, etc.) or specialized incidents (i.e. escape of chemical substances, explosion, etc.), instructions and actions on handling and confrontation of emergency incidents, informative material with regard to the means and the systems of emergency incident confrontation, training programs, etc..

Process Engineering may support you effectively by:

  • Developing Emergency Situations Plans
  • Training the personnel in their implementation
  • Supporting on the execution of emergency drills
