According to Greek legislation (P.D. 17/1996) the employer must take, with regard to first aids, fire safety and evacuation of premises from employees and other present persons, all necessary measures that will be adjusted to the size and the nature of activities of the Organization. Moreover must give instructions to the workers so that they can in case serious, direct and inevitable danger, abandon the premises and go to a safe place. Finally the employer must organise the suitable infrastructure and ensure the suitable interconnections with responsible external services in order to immediately confront with situations regarding first aids, urgent medical care, and rescue and fire safety.

All the above mentioned legislative requirements are covered by the Emergency Situations Plans.

The Emergency Situations Plans can include procedures of confrontation of emergency situations of general nature (earthquake, fire, terrorist threat, etc) or even specialised situations depending on the Organization's activity (escape of chemical substances, explosion, etc), instructions and actions on the handling and the confrontation of emergency situations, informative material with regard to the means and the systems of emergency situation's confrontation, training programs, etc.
