Occupational Physician (OP)
Occupational Physicians assess and evaluate the individual's environment, as well as how their overall health can affect their ability to work safely.
The work of an OP can vary according to the hazards of a particular industry and involves clinical medical activity and investigation of working environment.
Specifically, according to Greek legislation (Law 3850/2010) the Occupational Physician advises on:
- Planning, scheduling, modification of the production process, construction and maintenance of facilities, following the rules of occupational health and safety.
- Protection measures during the import and use of materials and equipment supply.
- Physiology and psychology of work, ergonomics and occupational hygiene, arrangement and configuration of work positions and environment and management of the productive process.
- Management for the provision of first aid.
- Initial placement or change of job position, temporarily or permanently, due to health reasons, and integration or reintegration of disadvantaged people in the production process.
Process Engineering personnel (physicians, doctors of other specialties, etc.) have important experience in the provision of Occupational Physician's services and are qualified for the exercise of such duties into various enterprises and activities.
